Having lived in Lisbon since 2004, photography has always been part of my daily life.
I’ve always been particularly interested in people in their everyday surroundings, but also in the geometric space in which they live.
The city is so special that every walk is a discovery.
I love the changing light, so bright in winter in skies that are often full of clouds.
I love the contrast with the white stone of the city, the calçada or the Tagus.
I love these viewpoints, these sloping streets, these staircases.
The geometry and composition of the image have always been very important in my work.
I’m not looking for emptiness, or necessarily a human presence; I’m looking above all, as I walk along, for an emotion that I try to capture so that I can share it. The landscape is sometimes enough in itself; a human presence sometimes adds to its dimension, but is not always necessary.
